Etchr Studio Free 30-minute class - Discovering Monuments Through Sketching

My second cycle of workshops as Resident Artist at Etchr Studio.

In a quick 30-minute demo, I'm going to show you how to express a monumental character in a frontal view of a historical landmark. This live demo is a stepping stone to the Mini Workshop with the same theme later on March 10th.

February 12th - 12pm EST - 5pm WET - 6pm CET

Recommended materials:

  • Watercolour sketchbook, 180gsm or above, cold or hot press to your preference (Suggested: Etchr Perfect Sketchbook A4 or A5)

  • Pigment waterproof pen or nib fountain pen with waterproof ink (Suggested: Etchr Black Graphic pens, or Noodler’s Ahab pen, or Lamy Safari fountain pen, and DeAtramentis Document Ink)

  • Watercolour paints, any brand (Suggested colours: burnt sienna, ochre, cobalt blue, ultramarine blue, indigo, sap green, alizarin crimson, plus any red and/or orange)

  • Large, medium and fine round watercolour brushes. Japanese and Chinese calligraphy brushes are also great alternatives. One flat medium brush, for few details (Suggested: Etchr watercolour brush set)

  • Large container with water

  • Paper towels

  • Water vaporizer (optional)
